Let Go and Let God

Hey positive peeps! :) How's it going? Yesterday was "Easter", also known as "Resurrection Sunday", and I hope you had a great one. Mine was good, nothing too exciting, church and then dinner with my immediate family of four: mom, dad, and younger brother. I come from a big family, meaning both my mom and dad have lots of brothers and sisters, and those brothers & sisters have kids, and some of their kids have kids, and so on and so on... but my immediate family is pretty small and Easter has always been the one holiday that never held a large family gathering, so it was just the four of us. Hopefully one day my brother and/or I will get married, have kids and our little immediate family dinners can become a little bigger. :) Here's hoping but you never know... This all leads me to discussing the subject of this post and better yet, the quote mentioned above: "You must be willing to let go of the life you planned so as to have the life that is waiting for you." I just recently turned 30 years old on April 1st (yes, I'm an April Fool's Day baby) and while I'm grateful to God that I've made it this far (30 years is most definitely a blessing) and grateful for all that I've accomplished so far, I have to admit, there are some things I would have thought I would have had by now that I don't, for instance, a husband and a kid or two; a little family of my own, but one thing I'm definitely coming to find out as I get older, life seldom works out as planned. And that's not necessarily even have to be a bad thing. Also, I'm a firm believer in that what's for you is for you, in other words, what God has in store for me or you in this life, we're gonna' get! And no man can stop that! So instead of worrying about things that we really have no control over anyway, how about we all just LET GO AND LET GOD? Let go of the life that you planned so that God can bless you with the life He wants to give you! And don't worry! His plans are always so much greater than anything we could ever imagine! All we have to do is trust & believe that He is in control. And please, don't misunderstand me, I don't want you to think that all the dreams and goals you wanted or still may want for your life aren't going to happen! If it's in God's plan, they will! But on HIS schedule, not ours!

Life can really get you down sometimes when you go about it trying to live it your way. We're all guilty of it! I'm speaking to myself as well as anyone reading this. We want what we want when we want it. It's human nature. But what would happen if we stopped thinking/worrying about the future and just focused on the here & now? Imagine all that we could achieve today if we weren't so concerned about what's going to happen tomorrow or next week! So I've made the decision for 2012, and every year after, that I'm going to let God take care of my future and not worry about if or when this or that is going to happen. I'm letting go and letting God and I suggest you do, too!
